Our governance
LASE University Group is a company limited by guarantee and a charity, with one unified Board of Governors, one executive team and one Vice-Chancellor.
The Board of Governors are the Group’s board of directors and trustees, responsible for the strategic direction of the Group, approving its strategy in conjunction with the executive and ensuring that it is fulfilled.
The functions and powers of the Board are specified in the Group’s Articles of Association, available below, which is the Group’s core constitutional document.

Governor's Statement of Primary Responsibilities
The Board comprises between 11 and 17 Governors, including the Vice-Chancellor, two Staff Governors appointed through a competitive recruitment process, two Student Governors and up to 12 Independent Governors chosen from outside the Group for their skills and expertise. Appointments to the Board are overseen by the People and Nominations Committee.
The Board of Governors is supported by the following committees which consider in depth the matters under their remit:

- Remuneration Committee
